Mardi Gras

Concurrent with the Masquerade Portfolio, Joan Rosenstein worked on a portfolio of toned, tinted and hand painted gelatin silver prints of images made in New Orleans during the Mardi Gras celebration. These images show the floats, parades and costumed figures participating in the festivities. The photographs also reveal how the anonymity of masks and disguises promote a contagious mass euphoria and help disintegrate inhibitions.

Color & toned photographs are now available as 11" x 14" or 16" x 20" EPSON® UltraChrome™ Inkjet photographs.
